US Dollar Index Price Attacks the 55-Period Moving Average – Forecasts for 31-8-2026
On Friday's trading, the index price successfully breached the stable barrier at 99.10, opening the door for it to reach the previously suggested corrective targets, and we note its current confrontation with the 55‑period moving average centered around 99.60.
We would like to point out that the Stochastic indicator remaining in the overbought level may give the price an opportunity to record additional gains during the current period as it pushes toward 99.87, thereby confronting an extension of a strong resistance, which we will monitor due to the importance of this resistance in determining the expected direction of upcoming trades.
The pair's price managed to withstand temporary negative pressure by delivering a new positive close above the support level centered at 0.5770, thereby maintaining its stability above the 55‑period moving average, confirming the previously suggested positive continuity, and we observe its current push toward 0.5825.
The index price exploited repeated positive pressure by recently forming a new upward breakout, and we note its attack on the stable historical peak at 26,590.00, achieving some historical gains by touching the level 26,628.00.
The index price approached Friday's trading close to the first stable positive target at 29,810.00, and then had to form a sharp decline to settle below the barrier represented by the level 29,560.00 due to an attempt to present the Stochastic indicator with negative momentum by its repeated stability below 80, as shown in the attached chart.
