WTI Crude Eyes $110 as Market Volatility Persists

At 16:00 GMT on October 22, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was trading at $99.69, a gain of $2.54 or 2.61 % from the previous close. The benchmark oil price is inching toward the $110 resistance level that has been a key technical target for traders. The 100‑level support remains intact, while a breakout above $110 would signal a new bullish trend.

Brent crude, the global reference, was up $3.55 (3.26 %) at $112.37, reinforcing the upward momentum seen in the U.S. market.

Gold slipped to $4,085.33, down $55.95 (1.35 %), as risk‑off sentiment eased. Silver also fell, trading at $55.96, a decline of $1.75 (3.03 %). Copper and aluminum were in the red, with copper at $6.4178 (down $0.1617, 2.46 %) and aluminum at $3,013.70 (down $24.80, 0.82 %). Natural gas slipped slightly to $2.760, down $0.030 (1.08 %).

Analysts note that the oil market is currently influenced by a mix of geopolitical developments and inventory data. The upcoming U.S. inventory report and potential OPEC+ policy adjustments could provide the next catalyst for price action.

Investors should monitor the $110 threshold closely, as a sustained move above this level would likely trigger increased buying interest and could propel WTI into a new rally. Conversely, a failure to break the resistance could keep the market in a consolidation phase for the coming weeks.
