Gold Technical Analysis
arabictrader.com
From a classical technical analysis perspective, we are witnessing a genuine regime shift; gold is no longer moving within a high horizontal range but rather within a wide ascending channel where the price floor is gradually being lifted to levels that were previously considered historical peaks.
Data from gold ETFs, investment flows into bullion and currencies, and reports of supply restrictions in certain markets indicate that the rally is backed by real capital rather than short‑term noise.
Each additional price increase raises this ratio, meaning that any sharp decline in gold would result in an immediate book loss for central bank reserves, prompting them – rationally – to exploit corrections for buying, thereby providing an unspoken support for prices.
The Parabolic Stress Score (PSS) – a qualitative measure of the saturation of an up‑wave – can estimate the degree of saturation by counting the number of historical peaks recorded in a single time period, the speed of transition between major psychological barriers (such as 3,000, then 3,500, then 4,000), and the breadth of volatility ranges relative to historical averages.
On the chart, this scenario manifests as sustained cohesion above 3,500 and a transformation of the 3,000–3,300 area into a rarely broken floor, with stable successive peaks in the upper part of the channel between 4,000 and 4,500.
In the absence of these signs, what we see today will remain closer to an extended repricing phase for gold, viewed as a structural component of the global financial system’s backbone rather than a commodity that simply fluctuates with inflation cycles.
