In a market that mirrors the volatility of global affairs, key commodities saw modest moves on Thursday. Gold traded at $3,896.42, a decline of 1.27% from the previous close, while silver fell 4.28% to $48.713. Energy prices, however, rallied: WTI crude climbed 1.75% to $98.15, and Brent surged 2.02% to $106.89. Base metals also reflected a mixed picture; copper slid 3.68% to $6.3258, and aluminium dropped 1.80% to $3,038.70. Natural gas edged up 1.61% to $2.902. These movements come as tensions in the Black Sea continue to test NATO’s strategic boundaries, adding an extra layer of uncertainty to commodity markets worldwide.
