Euro moves in positive territory supported by European interest rates
The Euro rose in the European market on Monday against a basket of major currencies, resuming its gains against the US Dollar that had paused on Friday, and is on the verge of hitting its highest level in nearly two weeks, benefiting from the decline of the US currency at the start of the week's trading.
Amid rising global energy prices, inflationary pressures are mounting on monetary policymakers at the European Central Bank (ECB), reinforcing the likelihood of a European interest rate hike this September, pending the release of more economic data in the Eurozone.
Investors are awaiting the release of key US inflation data for August this week, which will be a decisive factor in whether the Federal Reserve raises interest rates this September.
