Meta Platforms Rockets 11% as Muse AI Gains Ground, Wells Fargo Raises Target
Meta Platforms (META) surged 11.43% to close at $741.25, its strongest daily move in months. The rally was fueled by fresh download data that shows Meta’s new Muse AI personal agent has overtaken rivals such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude in the Apple iOS app store, signaling a potential shift toward paid subscriptions as users gravitate toward the feature.
Wells Fargo analysts, led by Ken Gawrelski, lifted their price target for Meta to $796 from $640, citing the high adoption rate of Muse AI and the company’s robust cash flow from its advertising business.
The broader market mirrored Meta’s optimism. The S&P 500 climbed 1.49% to 7,764, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 2.26% to 27,122. Among peers, Alphabet (GOOGL) closed at $354.97, up 1.55%, and Snap (SNAP) ended at $5.70, up 3.07%.
Meta’s trading volume hit 48.3 million shares, a 157% jump over its three‑month average of 18.8 million, underscoring heightened investor interest. Since its 2012 IPO, Meta has grown 1,839% in value.
Investors will be watching for concrete revenue guidance from Meta as the company seeks to monetize its expanding AI ecosystem, while analysts remain hopeful that the Muse AI platform could become a key driver of future growth.
