Citi Forecasts Robust Appetite for Chinese AI IPOs Amid Valuation Headwinds
Citi’s research team has highlighted that investor interest in Chinese AI initial public offerings remains strong, even as valuation multiples stay elevated. The bank points to a growing pipeline of AI firms that are expected to go public in the coming months, noting that supportive regulatory policies and the sector’s rapid growth continue to drive demand.
"Despite lofty valuations, the appetite for Chinese AI IPOs is resilient," said the research team. They argue that the combination of strong earnings prospects, a favorable macro environment, and ongoing government support for technology innovation keeps investors engaged.
Citi’s analysis also underscores that the market is likely to see a steady stream of new listings from mid‑2024 onward, providing opportunities for both domestic and international investors to gain exposure to the high‑growth AI space in China.
